The future ‘workspace’
An expository article on a DAO that’s bringing upon a cultural revolution
If you’ve peered into the depth’s of defi, you may have encountered a peculiar niche of tokens labelled as ‘social tokens’. In the simplest terms, social tokens are a way for an individual/entity to capture their ‘social’ success into a token and use that token to interact with fans and contributors to the community. In the specific DAO that we’re discussing today, LevX DAO, our leader is an individual that has mastered the arts of smart contracts. A literal modern day wizard🐉
As a part of a DAO anyone can contribute if they feel so inclined. These contributions can come in many forms whether it be through memes or through publishing stupid articles such as this! That being said, I think it is also important to take a somewhat serious approach in order to have a discussion about what this DAO “thing” really is.
Why are you even doing anything for this DAO?
This is a much more personal answer but prior to joining this DAO, I’ve had ambitions of running and creating a beautiful legacy on the blockchain. Unfortunately, I’m dumb. I can’t create a damn token and manage it by myself let alone foster a community as strong and passionate as the one that has grown over the past 4–5 days.
Imagine, these guys writing code that millions of users will depend upon and use. Releasing a product for dumbos like us to help develop and build. Dare I say, the stars may have aligned?
So back to the question, why am i doing anything at all for this DAO? It’s to eventually create a space that will enable me and the people around me to work efficiently and effectively on anything we desire. Whether we create a glorious play2earn empire that chokes in every tournament, or an NFT community that’s cooler than the boring established stuff there’s no turning back. I’m excited cause there’s going to be a lot of friends, work, and a legacy to be established.
How does this thing work?
Currently, we work by being faithful slaves to our leader LevX. Depending on the mood and fluids our leader has been consuming, the work he throws at us may vary. Generally, our leader is capable of doing everything imaginable, but on the off-chance he finds himself challenged, he allows us, morties, to tackle the challenge! This way we are given space to build, add our own flavour, and contribute to whatever the heck LevX is building. This means we get to shape things a lot too! In fact, because we are structured as a dictatorial DAO, we actually have fair elections as well that are very fairly considered by our dictator. It may sound scary at first, but leave the old geopolitics behind and get with the new. This way we have a smart man in charge leading the way with a community reminding him of his limitations as just another morty-like being. It’s been 5 days of nonstop growth over at the discord channel fueled by Oh..Geezors with way too much time. Nobody know’s what the future holds for this DAO and it leaves me sputtering “oh..geez” everytime i think about it. Then I think of the potential future this fantastical place could holld and all i can say is — Oh Geeez. Are we going to make it? With our hands we will make anything!
